Client & Project Background

Westside Reborn is exactly what the name says. And then some.

When the Westside Road wildfires took everything, they left behind a lot, a detached garage, and a story that wasn’t finished yet. What came next required more than construction. It required vision, engineering, and the kind of determination that turns a blank and complicated hillside into something extraordinary.

The Process

The ground itself had to be re-excavated down to natural soil before a single wall could go up. Massive concrete retaining walls were engineered to reclaim the site and create the foundation for everything above. What was once an awkward 80-step trek from garage to front door is now a seamlessly connected three-level home, brought together under elegant rooflines with classic stair sets that feel like they were always meant to be there. A gated entry and sweeping driveway walls finish the arrival sequence the way it deserves.

Inside, the home makes no apologies for what it is. Polished concrete floors run from the interior straight out onto the deck, blurring the line between inside and out. Sleek black cabinetry is punctuated by rift white oak. A 27-foot window wall floods the main floor with natural light, met perpendicularly by a 17-foot sliding door to the deck. And anchoring it all in the corner, a one-of-a-kind fireplace imported from Norway, the first of its size in all of Western Canada.

Finished Product

Steel beams. ZIP panel cladding. An angled steel stairwell that stops you mid-step. This is a home built with the precision of a structure that had to earn its ground.

It did.

Westside Reborn. Built from what the fire left behind.
